Life Interview
From childhood to today, one question at a time
An interview about one person’s life, in order of time. The one answering talks; the one asking reads the card and then keeps quiet. It starts with the first memories and reaches today: at the end, the listener knows the other as they did not before. It works with a parent, a grandparent, a lifelong friend. Alone, it is your story laid out in a line.
Some questions from this deck
- What is your first memory? Not the oldest one you were told about: the first that is yours.
- What do you know about the day of your birth?
- Describe your childhood home, room by room.
- Who looked after you in your early years, apart from your parents?
- What did you do when you were on your own, and nobody was watching?
- What was your first day of school like, as far as you remember?
- Who was your closest friend at eight, and what did you do together?
- What were you afraid of, as a child?
The deck holds 28 more questions: they are drawn at random, on three levels of depth, from light to deep.
