A few things, all listed here, and only two of them need your consent.
A cookie is a tiny file the site leaves in your browser. We use very few, and here they all are.
| Name | Type | Lifetime | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| vibeing_session | strictly necessary | 180 days | keeps you signed in. It only exists if you have an account and logged in |
| vibeing_lang | necessary, preference | 180 days | remembers whether you want the site in Italian or English |
| vibeing_ospite_v1 | local storage, necessary | until you clear your browser | holds the progress of people playing without an account. It stays in your browser and never reaches us |
| vibeing_tema | necessary, preference | 12 months | remembers the look chosen by people playing without an account, so the page opens with it. It goes away when you create an account |
| vibeing_oracolo_v1, vibeing_tema_v1, vibeing_arrivo_v1, vibeing_notifiche_chieste_v1, vibeing_mazzi_ricevuti_v1 | local storage, necessary | until you clear your browser | for people playing without an account: the oracle and look they picked, the time of their first visit (for the reminder), whether the reminder has already been offered and the codes of the decks they received |
| vibeing_giorno_v1, vibeing_invito_v1, vibeing_intro_v1, vibeing_installa_v1, vibeing_stringhe_v1 | local storage, necessary | until you clear your browser | the daily-question answers of people playing without an account, the invite code that came with the link until you create an account, whether the welcome and the prompt to install the app have been seen, and a copy of the interface texts so the site opens faster. It stays in your browser |
| vibeing_consenso | local storage, necessary | 12 months | remembers the choice you made below, so we stop asking every time |
| _ga, _ga_LY04JDCEB2 | analytics, third party | 2 years | Google Analytics 4: counts visits and shows which parts of the site get used. Only starts if you accept |
| _fbp, _fbc | advertising, third party (Meta) | 3 months | the Meta pixel: recognises the browser that saw one of our ads, to measure campaigns and show our ads to people who have already visited. Only starts if you accept advertising |
| vibeing_campagna_v1 | local storage | 30 days | the campaign you came from (the utm parameters in the link), for people who create the account on another day. Only written if you accepted analytics or advertising |
All but the last three make the site work and remember your choices. By law they need no consent, and without them the game does not run: there is no way to switch them off from the site, but you can always delete them from your browser settings.
Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel are the only third-party tools on the site, and the only ones that ask for your consent: one at a time, with “Choose” in the banner.
Until you give it, Google’s script is not even loaded: no request goes to its servers and no cookie is written. This is not a preference we quietly ignore — it is how the page is built.
If you accept, Google Analytics collects, in aggregate, page views, approximate origin, device type and browser. It does not receive your name, your email or the answers you write.
The Meta pixel measures our campaigns on Instagram and Facebook: whether someone who saw an ad came, signed up or bought, and it lets us show our ads to people who have already visited. Like Google Analytics, until you accept advertising it is not even loaded.
With your consent, besides the pixel in the browser, our server tells Meta when you sign up and when you buy (Conversions API), with a hash of your email rather than the email itself. Meta explains its tools at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it: at the bottom of this page, and on your profile card and the sign-in card (the menu at the top right of the game) there is a “Cookie preferences” link. Withdrawal takes effect immediately — the script stops loading on the next page load — and it is worth deleting the cookies already written from your browser settings.
How we handle data in general is in the privacy policy. How Google uses data from sites that rely on its tools is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
